Well it looks like I missed April completely! I must have been busy.
Most of our snow has (finally) left us. For a while it was replaced with that boot-sucking mud. One afternoon, knowing that the path to the manure pile was a bit mucky, I decided to not overload the wheelbarrow. About six feet from the manure pile the wheelbarrow and my boots became mired in the mud so when the wheelbarrow went over, so did I. As I am kneeling in the mud all I could think of was “Really???” I pushed myself back up and as I was trying to unstick my boot my foot slipped out causing me to lose my balance. I reached out for the gate post to regain my balance only to discover that the electric fence wire ran up the post. Oh, and my bootless foot came down in a pile of horse poop. For a second or two I think I was missing the snow.
On to other news. Holger’s month with us just flew by. He has now moved on to another farm adventure. Thank you for all your hard work and your company. We’ll miss you. I hope you have more to do now than just shovel snow!
Last Friday another WWOOFer arrived. This time we have Cordy, also from Germany. I don’t know what I would do without my WWOOFer’s!
And, as usual, I will leave you with a sunset. This one was captured on the way to a meeting (that I was chairing). Consequently, I was late, but, it was totally worth it!
By the way, this one looks awesome printed on canvas!
Until next time,
